Creationism vs Intelligent Design vs Evolution:
What is the difference between Creationism and Intelligent Design? Although the topics are complicated, that answer is simple. Intelligent Design (ID) is science, whereas Creationism is faith based. ID just looks at the issue from a purely scientific perspective and says the Universe is so integrally complex that it must have had a Designer. Creationism agrees with ID but goes on to name the Designer: God. ID never quotes Scripture, whereas Creationism is all about explaining the Scriptural viewpoint.
So, although they share the central point that Creation needs a Creator, Intelligent Design stops short of identifying the Designer.
The two groups also share a common adversary: Darwinian Evolution. The Theory of Evolution (TOE) says that all things (Origin of the Universe, Origin of Life, Origin of the Species) happened through random chance and time. ID says that the TOE is unreliable because it denies all basic scientific evidence. Creationism says that the TOE is unreliable because it denies the Scriptures.
But the number of adherents to the Theory Of Evolution (TOE) is waning. No one questions adaptation within a species, but the sheer implausibility of one species turning into another species is finally catching up with the TOE. If you examine the evidence, the fossil record does not corroborate the TOE, as mice don't morph into rhinos no matter how much time you give them. The Cambrian Explosion virtually obliterates the TOE.
That doesn't mean that all scientists are now bowing at the throne of their Creator just yet, but many in the scientific community are finally letting go of that worn out explanation of the origin of species and many are embracing Intelligent Design.
The evolutionists claim that the creative force of the TOE is: Time, Chance and Mutation. If that is true, why are we losing over 100 species per day? Time, Chance and Mutation are still in existence, and yet their "creative force" seems to have waned. If the TOE is science, we should still be seeing the continual "creation" of new species all the time, and yet we see just the opposite. The Laws of Thermodynamics (entropy) say that everything is winding down (dying); whereas the TOE says everything is winding up (evolving into higher forms). There is simply no evidence to support that perspective. Not to mention the fact that no scientist has ever been able to make just one simple living cell in the lab, let alone witness life spontaneously spring into existence from non-living chemicals...all by itself. Never, ever, ever. Yet this is the very foundation of their theory.

In everything we see, observe and study there is evidence... of Design.
There are three main issues:
1) Origin of the Universe
2) Origin of Life
3) Origin of Mankind
There are two main camps on the three issues:
1) Intelligent Design (A Designer created it)
2) Atheist/Evolutionist (It created itself)
The two camps commonly explain their position this way:
1) Origin of the Universe
Intelligent Design: "The Universe, from the earth to the farthest reaches of the Cosmos was designed and created (brought into existence from nothing) by a transcendent Being (eternal; outside of time, space and matter) of unlimited power and intellect. The evidence shows a design so integrally complex that it is literally impossible to have happened by chance." We have witness the death of many stars (supernova) but no one has ever seen the birth of a star.
Atheist: "In the beginning, a singularity exploded (Big Bang), causing gravity, energy, time, space and matter to coalesce into the Universe as we know it. The cause of its inception is unknown."
2) Origin of Life
Intelligent Design: "Life itself, from plants to mankind was designed and created (brought into existence from nothing) by a transcendent Being (eternal; outside of time, space and matter) of unlimited power and intellect. The evidence shows a design so integrally complex that it is literally impossible to have happened by chance." If life can spring into existence all by itself, then why has no one ever, ever, ever seen this happen?
Atheist: "Although we have not been able to reproduce life in the lab, we believe that life sprang into existence all by itself from non-living chemicals, through random chance and time, without help from Divine design or intervention."
3) Origin of Mankind
Intelligent Design: "All species, from mice to mankind were designed and created (brought into existence from nothing) by a transcendent Being (eternal; outside of time, space and matter) of unlimited power and intellect. The evidence shows a design so integrally complex that it is literally impossible to have happened by chance.
Atheist: "Humans developed over time by random chance, mutation and survival of the fittest species. Non-living chemicals came together to form amoeba; eventually evolved into fish; crawled out of the swamp as reptiles, morphed into mammals and eventually man."
So why is the topic of Origins so vital?
Because for many people, denying the witness of Creation is the first step AWAY from God. The Apostle Paul said that rejecting the clear and present evidence of Creation eventually leads to a depraved (dysfunctional) mind.
Paul stated in Romans 1, starting with verse 18, “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—His Eternal Power and Divine Nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools... 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie...28 So God gave them over to a depraved mind."
So the Scriptures teach us that Creation is our first and most blatant evidence of our Creator. It also teaches that if we reject that clear and present evidence, that our heart starts a journey; a journey away from God. A journey that leads to a dysfunctional mind; a mind that no longer communicates effectively with our spirit or our Creator.
Once we have made the decision to reject the Evidence of Creation, we are in effect, rejecting God, and that inner voice begins to get quieter and quieter and eventually is no longer perceptible. The problem is, if we reject God in THIS life, that forces God to reject us in the NEXT life.
So we invite you to re-examine the issue of Creation.
